Tusind TAK for en rigtig dejlig ferie i jeres smukke italienske hus.
Vi blev taget rigtig godt i mod og budt meget velkommen, trods den sene ankomst pga. udfordringer med billeje.
Vi fik en fantastisk introduktion af huset - sikke et flot gennemført italiensk hus.
Alle, såvel børn og voksne hyggede sig max i huset. Og sikke nogle flotte velholdte udendørsarealer med terrasser til både morgenmad, frokost og aftensmad.
Vi hyggede os især meget omkring poolområdet, hvor børnene badede morgen, middag og aften, og det blev også til et spil bordtennins indimellem.
OG sikke et flot udsyn til Etna, hvor vi kunne følge med i den tiltagende røgudvikling og aktivitet fra vulkanen. Vi var en tur til Rifugio Sapienza på Etna og sikke en oplevelse og også koldt midt i sommervarmen.
Vi oplevede også en tur til det smukke Taormina med det antikke teater og de gode madoplevelser.
Det blev også til en bådtur med snorkling ved Naxos - en spændende oplevelse for både børn og voksne.
Ligeledes besøgte vi Alkantara-kløften med det klare, smukke og kolde vand og en gåtur ind i kløften.
Vi gik også en del ture i Trappitello, for at opleve det lokale liv i byen, og det blev også til en længere tur op til udkigståret, hvor vi undevejs oplevede Citron- og Lime-marker.

Nydelig sted i rolige omgivelser med flott utsikt. Huset inneholdt vi kunne ønske oss og det samme med uteområdet. Kort vei til sjøen og strand, og andre opplevelser. Hyggelig vertskap møtte oss ved ankomst og var tilgjengelig ved behov.

We absolutely loved staying at Villa Ambra. It was very spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the 6 of us. The villa was absolutely charming with its well kept swimming pool and outdoor patios. The owner and his son were so incredibly nice and helpful, especially acting as our interpreter when we had car trouble with our rental. Thank you again so such a wonderful stay!

Well, what can I say?

Our party of 7 had the most amazing time in Sicily, 2 weeks of sunshine and lidos, and what made it even more special was having a place to stay that provided comfort, an escape from the heat of the day with a lovely pool and the most amazing views of Mount Etna.

On our arrival, we were greeted by owner Orazio and his son, Piero. Orazio spoke very good English and took us through the whole house, explaining everything in great detail. Although the house is an older style, it was beautifully set out and so clean. The air conditioning was a necessity and worked perfectly.

In the kitchen, we had everything we needed. Outside, the seating was perfect with a lovely table where we spent many evening hours. The pool chairs were also great, and we appreciated the provided beach towels.

The area we were in seemed very small town at first, however it was a perfect starting point for us accessing the close by Giardini-Naxos beaches and Taormina. Some of us even got the local bus which was so easy to use. We also ate at a few of the local spots, all were amazing and all the people so friendly and accomodating.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Villa Ambra. Thank you Orazio and Piero!

just had a fabulous week at Villa Ambra. very clean well equiped with stunning views of mount Etna.
Orazio & Piero were excellent hosts giving us a tour of the villa and amenities and making sure we settled in.
local shops are just a short walk away with everything you need, just to note the hill has a bit of an incline but all good.
we used the airport transfer service recommended by Giulia and they did a Godfather trip for us too!. Thank you Giulia for making the whole booking experience a positive one.
local taxi service was really helpful too and the bus stop is just down the hill on the main street.
overall a great stay x

Beautiful property and located close to town. Plenty of room for 6 adults, with privacy but also for sitting, talking, game playing. Key holder "Papa" was a gem. Told us all about the area, history, etc. One drawback was the ability to shower at same time but we worked out a schedule!

Two family stay at Villa Ambra. Perfect location to be away from busy areas but close enough to self drive to some great locations / day visits. Kitchen is well equipped and there is a wonderful outdoor seating area with views of Etna and outdoor kitchen too with BBQ. A few shops within a 5 minute drive for supplies. Pool for our week (end of season) wasn't heated (didn't expect this) or pumping / filtering, but the kids used it ????, it smelt of chlorine and appeared very clean. A great stay, thoroughly recommended.

There is something magical about Villa Ambra nestled in the shadow of Mount Etna... The villa was our oasis for 7 days while we explored the beauty of Eastern Sicily. Our hosts Orazio and Piero were both charming and helpful and were there even when we had car issues. They take great pride in their beautiful Villa and it shows. We were 2 couples but had room for many more. The kitchen was fully equipped which was great for cooking dinner after a day out exploring. We had breakfast on the front terrace, dinner on the back terrace and also enjoyed the pool. The Villa is located near a couple of cafes, restaurants and a grocery store. We would highly recommend it to couples and families.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Ambra. We stayed two families for one week at the villa and the ourdoor area was our favourite place. The view of Etna is amazing and the kids loved the pool. The neighborhood is quiet and nice with good parking possibilities in front of the house. We were able to do an early check and warmely welcomed by Piero who also gave us some good tips about Trappitello. Can highly recommend this palace.

We enjoyed our stay in Villa Ambra. The Villa is a good size and accommodated our two families. We walked several times to the shops a short walk from the Villa in the morning to buy things for breakfast but there are also cafés and grocery shops nearby as well. The Villa felt very friendly and inviting with a useful sized outdoor pool. We ate inside in the large dining room and outside, sheltered from the sun. The Villa felt like home and we were settled in very quickly. The views from the windows were great but slightly dampened by the unfinished building down the hill. Nevertheless, we had a beautiful view of Mount Etna from the window of the Villa. The hardware provided to support our stay was great and made the holiday very relaxed, but anyway, the caretakers live locally if we had any queries. The Villa is a short bus ride from Taormina, a beautiful old Hillside town that is definitely worth a visit. Personally, We will miss Villa Ambra and look forward to returning.

The east side of the island has a number of charming towns and sights of historical interest as well as the opportunity to see how typical Sicilians live.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa, we were a family of 6 and there was plenty of space to eat, sleep and shower. The villa was rustic and had lots of charm, the boys enjoyed the pool and we all enjoyed visiting the local sites. The view of Mount Etna is stunning as a backdrop, would highly recommend the place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Ambra. As others have mentioned in previous reviews, the place looks better than in the pictures. It was clean and had a very nice outdoor area with a pool, sunbeds, dining area, grill and table tennis. We had to check in very late, but that was no problem which was very nice. We would also like to recommend the taxi driver Carmelo and his son Luca, recommended by the host of the villa (his card is in the villa). Carmelo was like our private guide every time we needed to go somewhere and told us a lot about the history of Naxos, Taormina and Castelmola. On the final day he took us to Siracusa for a day trip, which we highly recommend!

What a great place. We stayed at the Villa for 2 weeks. Everything was perfect. The villa is equipted with everything you would ever need. There is lots to explore in Trapitello. But most of all the owners are fine people that are most helpful. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We all enjoyed our stay very much. The villa was spacious as were the outdoor areas. The location was quite good. The drive to Taormina was relatively easy and only took about 20 minutes. The view of Etna was impressive, but the views of the sea were unfortunately hazy because of the smoke from Etna. The only negative was was abandoned construction directly across the street; however, it did not obscure the view.

Fantastiskt bra boende med mycket bra poolområde. Jag, min fru och våra två barn med respektive gjorde aktiviteter på förmiddagarna och hängde vid poolen på eftermiddagarna. God kommunikasjon med verten i forkant. Fleksible med innsjekkingen og god informasjon ved ankomst. Vi var 4 voksne og 2 barn i 14 dager. Huset er stort, men praktisk. Gode rom, senger og bad. Bassengområdet er helt fantastisk med solstoler og et stort spisebord i skyggen. Noen palmer ga oss også skygge om vi ønsket dette når vi lå i solstolene. Barna (og vi voksne) elsket bassenget. Størrelsen og dybden innbyr til masse lek og moro for alle sammen. Utsikten til Etna passet oss veldig bra siden Etna hadde utbrudd i noen dager mens vi var der. Fikk tatt noen spektakulære bilder! Kort kjøretur ned til Giardini Naxos Beach, ca 8-10 minutter med leiebil. Eller lå alt det vi trengte av matvarer i gangavstand fra huset. Vi er veldig fornøyde med stedet og verten/nøkkelholder og kommer nok tilbake igjen. Med hilsen Steffen :-)

We stayed in a beautiful, well appointed villa in the Tripitello section of Taormina. It is a lovely neighborhood with many villas. Our villa had a wonderful view of Mount Aetna which has its own weather. There are many significant historical sites to visit in the area. We enjoyed the town of Naxos with its spectacular ocean views and restaurants on the water. The food in the area is terrific especially if you like seafood.

Possibly the best AirBnB I’ve rented! Stunning villa and views. We had an amazing few days here with the whole family. It’s even better than the pictures. The pool and ping pong table provided heaps of entertainment and the lounge chairs were so comfortable we barely wanted to leave. Piero and Ozario were very accommodating, friendly, and responsive. They had plenty of recommendations too.

Villa Ambra was a relatively easy drive from Catania airport and had everything we needed for a week's holiday. The Pool was lovely and refreshing and well maintained. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden was attractive with beautiful views out over Mt Etna. It was nice having a variety of options for eating outside during different times of the day. Trappitello itself is unremarkable but has a well stocked Eurospin supermarket which was inexpensive and a couple of restaurants. Gian Franco's s Steakhouse were very welcoming and friendly with great food and wine, so much so we ate there twice and were greeted as friends. So far as excursions are concerned, Taormina is a must (we parked at Porto Catania carpark after reading hideous reviews about the vehicle clearance at Lumbi parking). Siracusa/Ortigia and the centre of Catania were lovely. Savoca is worth a visit and has connections with the Godfather film. We also did a 4x4 sunset tour of Mt Etna which was very enjoyable. The only negatives were that there were some dogs in a neighboring property which barked constantly. I wonder whether the owner might have a word with the neighbour? Some of the pool loungers were a bit worse for wear and getting the car into the designated space was very tricky. But overall we loved the property and would recommend it.

Vi bodde 6 personer i detta boendet. Vi var jättenöjda. Alla 3 paren fick en dubbelsäng och egen toalett. Rent och snyggt. Det fanns allt som vi behövde. Huset ligger i ett lugnt område med en fantastisk utsikt. Värden var mycket trevlig och svarade snabbt. Rekommenderas verkligen.

We had a great stay at Villa Ambra. Victor and Piero were very helpful. Kids loved the pool. Aircon worked well overnight. Lots of space. View of Mt Etna was amazing, despite the abandoned construction out front which we chose to think about as a roman ruin. Lovely to sit outside with the table mostly shaded in the evening. Cafe Augusto, down the hill, had delicious treats. We hired bikes and did some fabulous short rides on backroads that were mostly paved. We can recommend the hike from Taormina up to Castelmola on Sentiero dei Saraceni and down on Cuculunazzo, even with young kids, hot but great views. If you are ok with driving up and down a narrow spiral ramp, park at the multi storey park, Parcheggio Lumbi - Taormina. We also parked at the Funivia Mazzarò Taormina - Salita outdoor car park at the bottom and took the cable car up, much easier and only 7 euros for 6 hours, plenty of parks on a weekday, early July, around 10am.

Our extended family had a wonderful time in Villa Ambra! Everyone we dealt with was very nice from the online booking to Piero and Orazio who met us at the house to give us a tour and information we would need. They even left a bottle of wine and some snacks. The house was beautiful with more than enough room for 7 of us with 3 bathrooms and an outdoor shower outside. The outside area was spectacular with a view of Mt. Etna, and the sea, and the towns of Taromina and Castelmole. The kids really enjoyed the pool and it was a comfortable place to gather with a gorgeous table and chairs by the pool and out front. Piero gave us the name of a man named Charlie who came to the house with his assistant Antonio and prepared an amazing feast for us to eat outside to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend doing this!! Plenty of loungers too, along with an outdoor kitchen. It is walking distance to town and we took advantage of that by going every morning for a cafe and cornonetto, and even tried one of the restaurants, which was great! There is a grocery store called the Eurospin that has everything you may need. We had a great visit at this beautiful spot and would highly recommend it!!

We were attending a family wedding in Taorima and the house worked really well for 7 of us. The support while we were there from the owner's key holder was first class. We had a problem with a leak, caused by the exceptional rain (a year's rainfall in 3 days) for the time of year. This was fixed within 90 minutes of the key holder becoming aware of the problem. We travelled from and to Palermo for flights and had excellent flexibility from the key holder on both arrival and departure times. Would certainly book again for a party of 6 to 8

We loved our stay in the villa of Trappitello. It felt very grand and bohemian at the same time. Loads of space, bedrooms with enough storage and super comfortable. Swimming pool was beautiful if a little cold in October! We used the kitchen often and would walk down daily to the village to get supplies. Just a ten minute drive to some great beach clubs in Naxos and a 20 minute drive to Taormina (tip: use the multistorey to park!).

We had an amazing stay at Villa Ambra. The Villa worked great for our group of 9 (two families) as there was good space both for privacy as well as for joint dinners outside enjoying amazing view of mt Etna. We were warmly welcomed by Orazio and Piero whom gave us a good tour of the property. The Villa turned out to be more spacious than what we though based on the pictures. The kitchen worked well for us, and we also enjoyed using the outside charcoal grill. The pool space was also great. Location worked well for reaching Taormina and nearby beaches by car. We'd highly recommend Villa Ambra for any group looking to explore Taormina and Sicily!

Tous les renseignements qui m'ont été communiqués par Giulia étaient juste et précis. je veux souligner l'excellent accueil de Piero le propriétaire, lors de notre arrivée dans sa villa et sa réactivité pour répondre à une demande de notre part. La vue sur l'Etna est sublime surtout en soirée au soleil couchant (Préparez vos appareils photos) Le seul point négatif, mais totalement indépendant de Airbnb et du propriétaire, c'est les aboiements fréquents de deux chiens, pas voisins mais à proximité. Nous ne regrettons pas le choix de cette villa.

Piero was an attentive and informative host! Without him I’m not sure how we would have navigated the markets we needed and set up the party in the manner we wanted! The layout of the house was perfect for a mixture of families (we were 3 couples, one with a pre-teen). The indoor and outdoor kitchens and seating are perfect for entertaining those staying and extra guests for dinner…more than enough table service and cutlery! I highly recommend

The Villa Ambra was a perfect option for the 6 of us (three couples). The location was excellent: walkable to a small town with one of everything (bakery, grocery store, fish store, pizza place, etc), easy parking, close drive to the beach town (with nice restaurants), taormina, Etna, the airport, and the main north-south highway. The views from the house are across the valley that leads the towns on the foothills of Etna and on the clear days a spectacular view of Mt Etna. The house has particularly nice outdoor spaces- a big patio outside to eat and several other outdoor sitting areas. The dining table is large enough to eat and comfortable. The kitchen is fine- small but stocked enough to do cooking. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and having 3 full bathrooms was very convenient- excellent hot water. Overall- it was a perfect size. Note that there are steps to all three bedrooms. Really, the only mark against it was that the internet turned out to be inconsistent- going on and off throughout the stay. It wasn't a big deal for us since the cell service was strong- but may not be a reliable option if you are planning on doing work video calls or something like that.

Siamo stati presso la villa nella settimana centrale di Agosto. Siamo stati benissimo. La villa è magnifica ed è adatta sia per amici che per famiglie. La villa è posizionata in un posto molto strategico e tranquillo in quanto a pochi minuti da Taormina centro e dai Giardini Naxos. L'accoglienza dell'host è stata eccezionale e ci ha aiutato e dato suggerimenti sui posti da visitare durante tutta la nostra permanenza. Assolutamente consigliata

Super schöne Unterkunft, sehr großes Haus in welchem jedes Zimmer klimatisiert ist. Es ist ausreichend Grundausstattung vorhanden und der Pool ist super groß! Wir waren sehr, sehr zufrieden mit dieser Unterkunft und würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend, wenn wir Fragen oder Anliegen hatten waren sie 15 Minuten später in der Unterkunft um uns zu unterstützen - so lieb!! Alicia

Fantastica casa, adattissima per due famiglie con figli. Ottima posizione per visitare la zona di Taormina (con l'auto). Meravigliosa la vista sull'Etna in eruzione e la rinfrescante brezza serale. Location tranquilla lontana dal caos.

This villa is in the perfect spot to explore Taormina, Naxos and Mt Etna. We were a group of 8 friends and it was perfect for us. Very much enjoyed relaxing by the pool and having plenty of space. Amazing views of Mt. Etna and very easy to get around from the villa. Would highly recommend.

The villa was great for our family trip. With 6 adults and 4 children the space was great and the outdoor terrace and pool were amazing. The views of Mt Etna which was erupting while we were there, and over Taormina were also amazing. The location was great, Trapitello was a really nice town with some great places to eat and plenty of shops and easy access to the beach at Giardini Naxos via public bus or driving. I would definitely recommend Villa Ambra to anyone though especially if traveling with a large family. Orazio and Piero were great hosts and gave us some great info on the area and places to visit and also met us to check us in after arriving off our very early flight.

We were 4 adults and had a lovely week at the villa, the views of mount Etna were stunning and we enjoyed relaxing in and around the pool. The air-con was much needed as the temperature was very hot. You definitely need a car to stay here, there is parking at the villa but we didn't find it easy to park there so eventually parked on the road outside at the front of the villa. Its only a 5 minute walk down the hill to the main village street (10 minutes back up the hill) where there is an amazing cheese shop, pasticcerias, places to get ice-cream and we even found a small grocery shop. We mainly went to Giardino Naxos for dinner in the evenings which had more choice of restaurants. We didn't want to watch any TV which was a good thing as there were no English language channels. We all had a wonderful time at this lovely villa in Sicily.

Vi var to familier med 4 barn og hadde en fantastisk påskeferie. Villaen var romslig med nok bad og soverom. Sentralt beliggende til Etna, Taormina og 45 min fra flyplassen. Nydelig uteområde og utekjøkken. Fem minutter å gå til butikker og kafeer. Orazio var hjelpsom og informativ. Vi fikk også sen utsjekk grunnet sen flyavgang. Vi hadde to leiebiler men benyttet også Priolo med sin 9-seter til vinluncher og middager. Kom alltid til avtalt tid. Takk for oss, Orazio. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake.

Piero est un hôte charmant (encore merci pour la pâte à pizza) et réactif au moindre petit problème. La maison est aussi magnifique que sur les photos. Grand espace intérieur (nous étions 9 sans nous gêner). Le parc et la piscine sont identiques aux photos ( à l’exception d’une construction en cours devant la maison). A quelques minutes de la mer et deTaormine. Le coin est assez calme. Prévoir cependant absolument une voiture. Nous serions resté une semaine de plus sans problème.

Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt. Meine Freunde und ich waren nicht sicher ob die Lage des Hauses überzeugen würde. Doch es war klasse. Wir hatten quasi einen privaten Taxifahrer für die Ferien, der uns zu tollen Orten und tollen Stränden und Restaurants gefahren hat. Nunzio war sein Name echt cooler Typ. Orazio der Herr des Hauses konnten wir nicht kennen lernen, sein Sohn Piero hat uns pünktlich empfangen und auch pünktlich verabschiedet. Die Zimmer waren wunderschön und alle Zimmer waren mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Einfach nur klasse!!! Danke Orazio und Pierro für die Möglichkeit und danke Julia für die Vermittlung. We are a family of 7 people in the ages 13-75, we have had a lovely week in the villa, the positive course started already at the booking with the contact from the host who would make sure everything was as it should be. sent a sms on arrival and we were therefore received by the host, got a detailed review of the villa before he wished us a good week. We were allowed to stay a little longer due to a late flight departure, seem helpful. all in all, lovely villa, lovely pool, super good hosts, definitely worth a revisit.
