the hosts Rosella and Mario could not have been more accomodating and the property was just drop dead goregeous. The whole experience was sensational, and we were so happy to be in this secluded, private and stunning natural oasis away from the heat and crowds of the Sicilian beaches in August. The house accomodated my family and my sisters family with room to spare and the gardens were offering so much potential from the pool, to the river which cascades through the propert filling the air with the sound of running water and also some very cooling natural plunge pools. Mario even gave us a private tour of the water mill museum at the bottom of the garden, which was a wonderful bonus. All in all this place was the highlight of our stay..100% recommend it !

Fantastic farm villa close to a traditional small town. Close to the town for easy access and removed for peace and tranquility. The property itself is a little difficult to find - however the directions were simple and easy. Once discovered it’s a fantastic place to stay with a group of family and friends. We all loved it, in particular the large farmhouse kitchen and the pool area. Mario & Rosella were great hosts. Thanks for making our week so special it will forever hold fond memories in all of our hearts. A must return visit.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely home. Rosella and Mario were great hosts and were extremely responsive! They allowed us to check in earlier due to our flight times. The villa was lovely and matched the photographs. The local town was a 30 minute walk which had lots of fantastic restaurants and bars.

Mario and Rossella were the perfect hosts - warm, friendly and helpful. Their Villa (converted barn) is outstanding - a large, functional space, with wood stove (one in the living room and the other to cook on in the kitchen), excellent dining kitchen, and comfortable beds. Best of all is the setting - a quiet setting in a woodland valley with a fresh water stream and fruit trees. There's even a wood powered sauna by the pool. It is paradise. We will back to visit soon.

Staying at Rosella and Mario’s property was a dream. Their warm hospitality set the tone for our Sicilian visit. We were lucky enough to enjoy a meal prepared by Rosella and toured the mill with Mario. The home was charming and comfortable with plenty of room for our family. The property is extensive and gave our kids plenty of room to play outside and enjoy the river with rock climbing. The town Palazzolo Acreide is so close and we frequented Corsino’s daily - Rosella’s recommendation. We were centrally located to take day trips out to Mt Etna and Ortigia. Definitely make sure you have a car!

Villa Molinum is in very special location, with a stream going through the property near the UNESCO town of Palazolo Accreide and many other UNESCO towns very near by. Rossella and Mario were incredibly responsive and wonderful. We are all taking home the honey they make and the lavender they grow and collect.

Our family of 6 highly recommend Thai beautiful sanctuary! It truly is a magical place. We chose it because it was a great home base from which to visit many local villages and close to Syracruse and great beaches. If you like to come back after being out in the hot sun all day to a peaceful large property with an amazing pool - this is your place! It had more than enough room from our family of 6 with everyone having their own well appointed bedroom. Everything was clean and the property and surrounding trees - from which we could pick our own lemons and figs was to die for. The only detail that I would highlight is the the road down is a bit tricky with a big van like us - but we were able to get the hang of it quite quickly so not a big deal! This is truly a unique place that will continue to grow on you - the hosts are amazing, the location is perfect with many great local restaurants- one of which called “Scrigno deli Sapori” …we ate there 3 times!!! Our best airbnb yet!

Abbiamo trascorso tre giorni meravigliosi nella villa di Rossella e Mario. Eravamo in 8 e ci siamo trovati benissimo: la casa è spaziosa, accogliente e immersa nel verde, ideale per staccare dalla routine e rilassarsi. Il vecchio mulino antico all’interno della proprietà è davvero affascinante e rende l’atmosfera unica. Rossella e Mario sono stati gentilissimi, sempre disponibili e attenti a ogni dettaglio. Nestled in a valley just twenty minutes walk from Palazzolo Acriede is a hidden Eden. A 16th century mill and millers house have been lovingly restored by the owners, Rosella and Mario. The villa is tranquil paradise where the only sounds are the creek and the song birds. Our few days here were far too brief. We will definitely be returning.

An unforgettable stay - in every way. This was probably the best of my many experiences with Air BNB - and has become my favourite place in all of Italy. I'm so grateful to the hosts, Rossella and Mario, for their kindness and unfailing hospitality. It made this special family holiday even better. The house is exactly as described. Perfectly suited for a large group. We ended up spending much more time than we had planned just hanging around the villa and the pool and cooking wonderful meals in the well-equipped kitchen. For me the highlights were the river and an incredible meal that Rossella catered during our stay. Thank you my friends. We will be back!

Stunning house with beautiful views and the most lovely attentive hosts. Rosella cooked us a sublime Sicilian meal on the day of our arrival which she served and washed up. Such a treat. Mario joined us for an aperitivo on the terrace and gave us lots of local information. We were here in April and it was a was a little chilly in the evenings but we were supplied with endless barrows of Logs for the roaring wood burner. Such a pleasure to be there.

The ultimate Sicilian experience. Very beautiful house with all the necessities you can need! Nice cool temperature inside the house even without AC. The pool is great and it has a pool house and an outside shower. It’s also great to have access to the river. The property around is beautiful. Nice decoration in the house and several spots to lounge inside and outside. Palazzolo Acreide is a nice town near the house. Great attention with the welcome basket. Mario was very helpful and Rosella was adorable and speaks well English and French. Highly recommend!! We would love to come back again.

Giulia’s property was stunning. Situated on a small river in a 300 year old mill house property. The property was out of a storybook with beautiful natural surroundings, a fabulous pool and gorgeous local interior decor. The dinner prepared by the visiting chef was delicious and welcome after a long journey. We loved our experience!

We had an incredible family holiday at the house, the location is absolutely unique and stunning. The pool, gardens and home are authentically and beautifully Sicilian. It’s a very special place to visit, you can walk in the countryside around the house, enjoy the local wildlife, sit in the gardens or go into the local city in 7/8 minutes (car). The local restaurant are incredibly good, there are many top class places to eat and enjoy a range of locally produced great food. We ended up with 3/4 favourite places to decide on every night. The city is also beautiful, a UNESCO location, with lots to do and see. Perhaps the best part of home is the hosts themselves, they are super kind , helpful and great people to meet. They had excellent tips of where to go, what restaurants to try and helped us when our son needed a doctor. We were looking forward to a great holiday and home, and it was even better than we expected!

This is a really very beautiful spot with beautiful pool and gardens. We loved our stay and whilst close to Syracuse and Noto - Palazzolo also has some sights worth seeing and good restaurants. Mario and Rosella were great hosts.

This home and entire grounds is undoubtedly one of the most inspiring + beautiful places I have stayed. I wish we stayed here for a month and if you are fortunate that this home is available, you should book immediately. Airbnb is lucky to have owners such as Rosella + Mario who truly care about ensuring each guest has a remarkable experience at their home and go well above and beyond expectations. They organized activates including massages and proper private dinner with a local Sicilian chef and his wife. After dinner, Mario was so kind to start the wood burning fireplace for us to have a nite cap around the fire and he brought us a wheelbarrow full of wood to last us into the night. On the last day, Rosella offered to make us lasagna for dinner which was amazing and such a thoughtful gesture. The grounds are stunning and sit high above a stream meaning you are sleeping to the sound of calming running water at night. I could come back here next week + will think of this home often.

This place is absolutely lovely. The highlight is the outdoor areas which are so beautiful and peaceful. The pool was larger than i think the pictures show and was kept beautifully clean. Great sunbeds and lots of sunny and shady areas around the pool. The house is large and has everything you need, a very sociable kitchen and cozy sitting room. Bedrooms are all large with lots of storage. Location wise, the house is at the bottom of a narrow road so our taxi asked us to walk up to the road to pick us up. It took 20-25 mins to walk in to the town for food and restaurants. I'd recommend hiring a car as it is a little out of town and there are beatiful areas to explore around. The hosts i can not speak highly enough about. Their communication was excellent and they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. I would highly recommend this place for your holiday.

We had a fantastic time in the Villa. The property is beautifully restored the mill and the river makes the whole place unique. Palazollo Acreide is a nice little town with kind people. The only thing was a bit difficult for us is the little road that takes us down to the villa. It is narrow and steep, probably with a normal car is fine but we had a van which was not suitable for that road. Despite of that the place is great. The hosts Mario and Rosella are very nice people they made our stay very comfortable, also the first day when they saw that we are struggling with our van on the little road they guarded us the make us safe. The mill is fantastic, must see. Thank you so much for the lovely 10 days. I hope we can be back one day.

We had a fantastic family stay at The Millers House. The comms with Giulia were clear and responsive at all times. The owners, Rosella and Mario, are absolute gems and were so welcoming and helpful. The meal Rosella and Mario organised, with Turi Chef and his wife Gisella, was magical - great food and service in a wonderful setting at the villa. A must-do experience! The house is an authentic Sicilian country villa, 300 years old and lovingly restored; its stone walls are 700mm thick and keep the villa cool at all times. The grounds and gardens are very private, and the pool area was perfect for lounge around, reading books or relaxing with a glass of wine. There are so many intimate areas in which to sit and enjoy the gardens. The nearby spring provides a lovely back-drop of running water, very soothing and calming. The town of Palazzolo Acreide is quite historic but not overrun by tourists. When we arrived, Rosella graciously took us around the local shops, and introduced us to locally-made cheese, meats, bread and arancini. What a culinary delight ! Overall, it was an amazing Sicilian villa experience and we will certainly come back again.

This house is history in Sicily…. 300 years old in the real Sicilian countryside. The house is beautiful and the kitchen well stocked. The pool was where we spent a lot if our time as we hit a heat wave. Mario and rosella’s recommendations for suiting twins, restaurants and stores was fantastic! Mario even led us into town day one to show us around, bought us cheeses and introduced us yo the cheese maker. Rosella made us homemade almond milk and gave us presents including fresh Lavender and oregano from their land. These owners are truly all in … they responded to every question within minutes and were on site if needed quickly. They are two of the loveliest people you can ever meet.

We loved our stay The Millers Cottage. The property is beautiful - exactly the Italian countryside stay we were looking for. The Cottage was really perfect for our family -huge kitchen, cozy fireplace in the living room and views everywhere you looked. A treat was to see our hosts animals - dog, cats, horses and mule. Our hosts were very helpful and responded quickly to all our calls for directions or restaurant recommendations. Easy spot to get to the local towns we wanted to visit - Noto, Ortigia, Ragusa and airport. We would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks for helping us make wonderful family memories! This is a beautiful property, deep in a valley, not far from Palazzolo Acreide, a charming, although somewhat isolated town a 45 -55 minute drive from Siracusa. Mario, the owner/ host, is delightful and helpful in every way, and we all enjoyed interactions with him and Rosella and Orso! This is a very old and rustic house and its charm is also its shortcoming, in terms of the bathroom situation, which is uneven. Still, we, a three generational family had a wonderful time exploring the valley, some of us on horseback, and the plains of Akrai, with a smaller version of Siracusa’s Greek theater and other wonderful ruins designated a UNESCO site. Palazzolo Acreide has some gorgeous baroque buildings, the ruins of a Norman castle, many delightful restaurants and a cooking school with Chef Turi. Alyssia, who also does cooking classes, came to cook for us two evenings.We also explored Noto, Ragusa and the Roman Villa Casale as well as Siracusa itself. Sicily is a wonderful island, the Sicilians are warm and hospitable people and we hope to return.

This Villa could not have been more perfect for our girls getaway! The authentic style of the interiors hardly shows in the photos and we spent loads of time lounging around the gorgeous pool and drinking wine overlooking the beautiful stream. We took advantage of the huge kitchen by having a private chef cook for us one night and also did a pasta making class. Our hosts also arranged horseback riding for us and were available at any time if we had questions. Mario and Rosella could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The Villa is super close to the town if you need groceries or dinner and from there we also drove into Noto for dinner one evening, went sailing and swimming in the sea, and explored Ortigia. We really could not have had a better time, we will be back again!

This is an extraordinarily special place. The landscape is breathtaking and the sense of history is inspiring. The mill, the ancient stone work (dry wall for miles), the olive groves and lavendar fields, not to mention the creek, the pool and brand new pool house-all amazing. Little touches like antique lace trimmed bed linen gave us great pleasure. A tour of the old mill was a treat for the whole family (ages 6-76). And the kitchen has it all- equipped for a real family rather than a tourist drop in. The town of palazzola is a wonderful place as well with a great central square, baroque churches, and memorable architecture and wholly local street life- we walked to town daily. Everyone was enormously friendly but our hosts were first among them! Cant wait to return.

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We were a group of 8 adults and enjoyed it very, very much. It is a very special place, decorated with love, and cared for by their owners Rossella and Mario. When we arrived they showed us around and explained all the important things. They also gave us good tips for exploring the area and to shop for groceries. Each detail of the house and garden ist really thought through and special. The kitchen is big and fully equipped, so we really enjoyed cooking there and then sitting in the patio until late at night. The pool was also a highlight: perfectly clean and refreshing, with a fully equipped Bathroom right there (it doesnt show in de pictures because its new). The surroundings are also very beautiful. Palazzolo Acreide is a small town, very authentic and not as touristy as Noto or Siracusa, which are stunning and great for day-excursions at short driving distance. Communication with Rossella and Mario was always very quick and super nice. We absolutely loved meeting them and getting to stay in their wonderful house. Thank you!!!!
