A lovely old villa, full of rustic charm with amazing views of Mount Etna. 3 couples enjoyed our 10 day stay. Some noise from the neighbouring tree nursery in the mornings, but peaceful, relaxed evenings on the terraces. Luigi and his wife were very friendly and helpful, met us on arrival and on departure and helped sort a problem we had with a broken bed without fuss. The surroundings are beautiful. Not a place for a seaside/beach-lounging holiday (bit of a walk to a small rocky beach), but a great base for exploring Sicily. Local facilities a short drive away - butcher in Giarre a particular favourite.

La casa è circondata da alberi da frutto, in una vasta tenuta vicino al mare e con una splendida vista sull'Etna, che abbiamo potuto vedere rosso dalla terrazza in questi giorni di eruzione.
È una casa antica con carattere, soffitti alti, camere spaziose e molte finestre che lasciano intravedere il paesaggio. È molto luminosa e fresca allo stesso tempo.
È vero che la casa manca di alcuni servizi. Ad esempio, non ha una lavastoviglie, la TV non è smart e l'arredamento è un po' vecchio... ma tutto il resto compensa ampiamente.
La spiaggia più vicina si trova a 1 km di distanza. È tranquilla, con ciottoli, non sabbia (consigliamo vivamente di portare scarpe da acqua). Ad agosto devi arrivare in auto a causa del caldo.
Ci sono tantissimi ventilatori e la casa è fresca. Non ti manca avere l'aria condizionata.
Abbiamo fatto un ottimo uso della doccia esterna e del tavolo da ping-pong.
Luigi e la sua famiglia sono adorabili.

The most beautiful stay!!! From the incredible villa to the enormous garden that surrounds the house. We were spoilt with berries and lemons and plenty of space to lay in the shade under the trees. We were a group of 10 and there was plenty of space indoors and outdoors. The outdoor shower with hot water was such a bonus. Cannot recommend this place enough 10/10!!

Luigi was a very lovely host so we had a very lovely stay, with view on the etna to one side and view to the sea on the other. Due to the very beautiful and spacious garden and terrace we felt at ease (even with 12 people) and has a perfect stay in Sicily.

Accueil très chaleureux et gentil par Monsieur Luigi, malgré notre arrivee très tardive. Un problème avec le four etait résolu très rapidement. Les terrasses et la vue sur l'Etna sont splendides ainsi que les magnifiques orangers et citronniers, le domaine est bien cloisonné avec un portail, et la maison spacieuse et lumineuse. Nous avons passé de beaux moments devant le four de bois de la cuisine et profité de la table de ping pong et du BBQ à l'extérieur. Les matelas chauffants sont un atout dans les chambres. Des excursions, notamment à Taormine et Syracuse parfaitement possible en journée. Nous avons regretté un peu que l'eau du robinet ne soit potable, donc eau en bouteilles nécessaire pour café, thé et pour cuisiner.

Although we were unlucky with the weather, we greatly enjoyed our stay here. We haven't made use of any of the amazing terraces, but were very happy with the spacious kitchen and living room. In the end, we did get to see the Etna in her full glory. The house is charming and strategically located, and Luigi was very friendly and helpful.

Das Landhaus ist ein Traum! Von der einen Seite der umlaufenden Terrasse sieht man den Ätna, von der anderen das Meer. Die Einrichtung ist authentisch und passt super gut zum Stil des Hauses. Man kann zu Fuß zum Meer laufen und in der Umgebung tolle Ausflüge machen, lohnenswert ist zum Beispiel natürlich der Besuch des Ätna!

Super nice and cozy house in the middle of lemon trees. Very nice kitchen, big spaces in all of the house. superb to chill in the garden and go to some beaches nearby. Car is needed, I would not recommend to walk at the narrow streets. The host was very welcoming and there was easy communication.

Villa Bagolaro was a beautiful property surrounded by a lemon tree orchard. There were views of both the Ionian Sea and the Mt Etna from the balconies. Guilia and Luigi greeted us when we arrived and were very warm and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations on places and restaurants to visit. I highly recommend this Airbnb if you’re looking for a private and quiet place to stay that’s close to Taormina/Giardini Naxos but isn’t in a touristy area.

This old family house is truly special, with history, beauty and character unmatched in more modern accomodations. Great kitchen, nice tiles and soaring cielings. The house location is convenient to tour major sites in Catania, Syracuse and Taormina. But best of all was sitting on the wrap around terrace looking at Mount Etna puff in the distance over the lemon and orange trees.

We were fortunate to spend our stay in Luigi's Villa Bagolaro in Riposto! Luigi is not only an outstanding host, but also an incredibly warm person. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed. Villa Bagolaro is a true retreat. The view of Mount Etna and the sea is simply breathtaking. Although the sea is close by, we enjoyed spending time on the terrace of the house. There we could enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful surroundings undisturbed. The villa itself is cozy, well equipped and perfect for relaxing days. It is advisable to arrive by car, even if the train station is not far away. But this is not indispensable. Overall, our stay at Luigi's Villa Bagolaro was an unforgettable experience that we would gladly repeat. Thank you again, Luigi, for your hospitality and the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful home. Luigi hat uns gut eingewiesen und war hilfsbereich! Wird durften früher einchecken und das Haus später verlassen. Die Villa ist riesig und hat einen schönen großen Garten. Man hat als Gruppe auch die Möglichkeit sich auf dem ganzen Gelände zu verteilen und seine Ruhe zu haben.

With the sea on one side and Etna on the other we stayed in this lovely stone house for ten days. We absolutely loved the large terrace around the house where we spent many long warm evenings. The house is stunning with its many original details and interior. If you love old houses, this is the place to stay! Modern and functional bathrooms and one outdoor shower. Our children appreciated the ping pong table. Our best excursions we would like to recommend are a guided tour to Etna, diving and fishing in Stazzo and don’t miss Siracusa - a must see! Both Neapolis Archaeological park and Ortigia, the old town. Our host Luigi was very helpful and kind whenever we had a question or needed advice for excursions. We had an amazing holiday and we will definitely come back to lovely Sicily!

The house is a beautiful villa with lot of space and amenities in the Sicilian countryside. From the huge balcony surrounding the building you can see the sea on one side and the Etna on the other. The actual house owners, Luigi and his wife, are wonderful people who immediately made us feel at home. They gave us plenty of recommendations regarding the local area and were extremely responsive to all of our needs.

Le logement de Luigi est parfait pour un séjour avec des enfants. Le jardin est immense et entièrement clôturé, les multiples terrasses permettent de pouvoir profiter des extérieurs à tous les moments de la journée. La maison est très ventilée et nous n’avons pas eu chaud la nuit. Nous recommandons!

Amazing place, a real piece of paradise! We had a wonderful time at this beautiful villa, 2 minutes by car from the sea. The house was even nicer than the pictures suggested and is surrounded on all sides by lemon trees and orchards. Off the back porch are views of Etna, off the front, the sea. Luigi, who helped us check in, was extremely friendly and very reachable. We would definitely come back.

Since my family and I arrived at the train station, the great experience began. Gently Luigi (one of the owners) picked us up. We were a family of 8 people who don’t speak Italian, however Luigi always try to explain everything in best way possible. The house was exquisite, with lots of ancients Italian details, surrounded by lemon, oranges and mandarines fragrant trees ( which we made delicious lemonade in every meal). the garden gave us an absolutely old style Italian vibe, was amazing. Every night my family felt like in an old vivid Italian movie, feeling like home 10/10. After we left we realized we forgot something important for us, then Luigi offered to us to bring to our next location on the island, super sweet, luigi and his wife have a golden heart, unbelievable. Would I go back to Giulia’s? Absolutely!

Beautiful private villa with huge wild garden (lots of delicious fruits for juices). Our hosts were very nice and helpful + super quick with message responses. I’d recommend the place for everyone with kids - we went with 2 toddlers and they had endless space for running ???? For most people having a car would be mandatory - there’s no space for pedestrians on the nearby streets. To sum it up - Loved it, recommend it ❤️

Bellissima la villa storica, con ampio giardino e viste sul mare e l'Etna. I panorami visibili dalle ampie porte finestre sono rimasti impressi nei nostri occhi! Abbiamo gradito la presenza di vari spazi all'interno della villa e all'aperto dove potere rilassarsi. Peccato per la presenza di un unico bagno, che necessita di una ristrutturazione, ma il proprietario ci ha accennato che sarebbe stata fatta dopo il nostro soggiorno.

Lieu très sympathique et assez bien placé. La maison est grande, très agréable, avec son grand jardin, sa vue (limitée) sur la mer, et une chouette vue sur l'Etna. Luigi est aux petits soins pour les occupants. C'est calme et éloigné de la route. Quelques remarques : - La maison jouxte une pépinière, il arrive que les ouvriers commencent tôt (6h) - Le confort thermique est moyen car certaines fenêtres sont en métal, couvertes de volets en métal, et quand le soleil tape en été, vous avez...un radiateur.

The house was big, we enjoyed our stay there, we felt this Sicilian atmosphere. Only it was very messy, especially the kitchen, we needed to wash all dishes before we started to cook, there was only three wine glasses, but we were six adults, everywhere was mosquito nets and dust, some furnitures was broken. Garden was beautiful with lemon trees but also very messy. This house deserves better care!

The villa is wonderful, with history, and reflects the atmosphere of Sicily perfectly. It is very comfortable, with many common places, the garden is grandiose, full of lemon and orange trees and blossoms. It’s in the middle of nowhere, neighbours are very far, we had a great time. I recommend it for larger groups, families.

We had a great time in Luigi's house. The house is really beautiful and very spacious, as is the garden. We stayed with our three (young) children, who also loved it. Picking fruits in the garden and playing football. We also loved the location, as it was close to nice cities and the Etna. It's good to know that you might hear the neighbouring machines of the plantation in the morning. Luigi was very kind and easy to reach. We would love to come back for another stay!

Villa Bagolaro is truly a magical place. We didn’t realise the grounds were so stunning with the orange and lemon groves surrounding the house. The flowers in the garden, view to Mount Etna and the sea make this place extremely special and we feel so lucky to have experienced it. The facilities are pretty basic with just one bathroom but there is an outdoor shower and an extra toilet in the utility room. It feels like an authentic vintage getaway! The kitchen has everything you need bar a dishwasher. Luigi was on hand for anything we needed and was so welcoming you can tell him and his wife really enjoy sharing their little slice of history. This is the perfect place for families as our kids spent the whole time playing hide and seek in the garden…there is a tv but there were no requests from our lot to put it on as they were too busy playing and exploring. Taormina is an easy half hour drive away, as is the amazing Alcantara Gorge which is an incredible family day out.

This is a beautiful place! The rooms are decorated thoughtfully and possess beautifully old furniture. You will not find IKEA at this place! The many tables that invite for dining at different locations, outside or inside, the perfect kitchen with new gas stove, and the lovely vegetables we received at our arrival make this the ideal place for culinary travels, where cooking and dining may make up most of your time. The garden is also huge, I must be around 2 hectare. There are two outside BBQ and much more to be discovered. You will enjoy this place!

We had a longer stay at Villa Bagolaro as a group of students studying abroad. The Villa and their owners, Paola and Luigi, could provide everything we dreamt of. It is situated in a beautiful environment, 10 min walking distance to the sea, some small and fine shops in the nearby village and a ridiculous amount of fruit trees around. We had the perfect working condition in the house, a good internet connection, a lot of space and Luigi who helped with any issue. In retrospect this house is a real treasure to find and we feel blessed that we could spend our time there. Would recommend 10/10. We will definitely come back if we ever get the chance. Thank you Paola and Luigi for everything!

La casa más bonita de Sicilia!!!! Una autentica villa siciliana. Hemos ido dos familias con niños. Un total de 11 personas. Muy grande, espaciosa y cómoda. Estupendamente cuidada. Rodeada por una gran extensión de tierra con árboles frutales. Vistas extraordinarias, por un lado al mar y por el otro al Etna. La ubicación es ideal para recorrer la isla y la cercanía a las playas hacen la estancia muy agradable. El sr. Grassi estuvo en todo momento pendiente y tuvo muchas atenciones con nosotros. Una casa 10!!!

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cette authentique demeure italienne. Pour ceux qui craignent la chaleur, les murs épais de la maison et les précautions de fermeture des volets la journée suffisent à garder une température parfaite sans climatisation. Pour le reste un grand jardin ombragée (pour le midi et pour les parties de Ping Ping en pleine journée) et une terrasse qui entoure la maison (vous choisissez votre lieu de repas selon l orientation du soleil) suffisent pour profiter pleinement de l extérieur. Une citronnade ? Allez chercher les ingrédients dans le jardin. Une plage ? M Grassi vous l’indiquera (en italien per favor !) car notre hôte sera discret et attentionné depuis votre arrivée jusqu’à votre départ. S il vous plait ne lui demandez pas d installer une piscine, la mer est à côté, et profitez pleinement de ce havre de paix sans aucun vis à vis. Bonnes vacances en Sicile !

We have just returned from an amazing week at this villa. Our hosts were amazingly friendly, helpful and patient. They waited at the villa for us until midnight following a delayed flight. The villa is exactly as pictured although of course being there it’s even more amazing. Such a big house was great for my daughter to run around in. And outside surrounded by the orange and lemon trees, plenty of space to walk. The location is a little out of the way, but easy enough to get around with a car. There are several nice restaurants nearby, particularly in the local hotels. Or of course you can just cook in the lovely kitchen. My only comment is that the directions provided were a little vague and we found down it tricky to find in the middle of the night. Google maps plots straight to the villa but in the darkness it was hard to see. Thankfully our wonderful hosts came to rescue us from the church nearby.

The house look exactly like in the pictures- and even more beautiful. The garden is a real paradise! It is located in a really quiet area so you can barely leave the house without a car, but that didint really bother us. We had the most relaxing vacation, with super nice hosts.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in diesen typischen altes Haus mit riesen Garten und Zitronenbäume. Die Kinder konnten gut draussen sein und spielen und wir hatten unterschiedliche Ecken und Lieblingsplätzchen zum Lesen, Quatschen und Spielen. Wir waren im Frühjahr dort und es war besonders schön.

What an amazing house! It has so many places to sit around a table; outdoor bbq area, tables under the trees, formal dining room and a cosy kitchen table. The view from every window is amazing- the sea, mount etna, orange trees. The shower is really good, and the kitchen has all the bits and bobs you need to do some serious cooking. Beds are cosy. The terraces around the villa have brilliant views and the gardens are perfect for kids. You definitely need a car, the road doesn’t have a pavement so you can’t walk to town or the sea, but we found lots of day trips, mostly about 40mins away from the villa down the motorway. Would really recommend!

io e i miei cugini tedeschi abbiamo passato una settimana nella villa. la vista è mozzafiato sia sull'Etna che sul mare. una spiaggetta per un tuffo veloce è molto vicina, nelle vicinanze ci sono anche molti bar e ristoranti, ci siamo rimpinzati per bene. la casa stessa è grande ed è perfetta per gruppi grandi. il barbecue e la doccia all'aperto sono stati i nostri elementi preferiti. se dovessimo tornare in zona, sicuramente torneremo alla villa!

La maison de Luigi est un véritable rêve : charme désuet des vieilles pierres, vues imprenables sur l'Etna et la mer, grands espaces permettant des soirées heureuses entre amis, jardin ombragé qui offre le repos, localisation idéale à 1 km de la mer... Luigi est un hôte très attentif et sympathique. Nous recommandons vivement !

Lovely space! An old villa in the middle of a lemon orchard with a lot of charm. The house has balconies overlooking both Mount Etna and the sea. It is furnished fairly rustically (no AC, dishwasher etc), but that is exactly how a stay in the countryside should be. It has everything one could wish for.

Mooie sfeervolle ruime villa met prachtig uitzicht aan alle kanten! De eigenaren zijn heel aardig en reageren meteen op vragen! Vanuit het huis kun je veel uitstapjes maken (taormina, siracuse, Noto etc). Het ligt aan een redelijk drukke weg dus met de auto naar de bakker is veiliger dan te voet. Het huis ligt naast een plantenkwekerij, dat geeft geluidsoverlast in de vroege ochtend.

Beautiful house in a citrus garden close to the coast and view on etna. A bakery is on 2 minutes. Big supermarket 10 minute drive. Close is a rocky beach, kind of private. There is a Great cd collection in the house: Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, etc. Music system is Great and you can play Very loud. But most importantly family Grassi are Very friendly and good hosts.

Authentic Sicilian experience! The house is a piece of history and has been in the family a long time. It has views of the sea on one side and Mount Etna on the other. A great hub to take day trips to Taormina, Catania, Syracuse.

We had a great time at this beautiful place! Mr. Grassi was a very nice and polite host. The accommodation is a perfect location for family or groups. If you want to visit some sandy beach, so you have to drive a little bit by car, but it's not far away from Mount Etna or Taormina. We would like to come back!

By far the hardest review i had to write. Words cannot fulfil the warm emotions and memories that this house and its hosts have created for me and my friends who spent 5 nights there. We used the house as a base and did daily trips as far as Sciacca. So it is possible to explore quite a large part of the island, if you have a car (i believe you need it) Everything about our stay was perfect. From the communication and directions to the accuracy of tbe pictures and the tranquillity of this magical location and property. Thank you so much for your hospitality and mr.
