x"A spacious villa with a great pool and lots of outdoor seating areas giving sun or shade at any time of day. Plenty of sun loungers at the pool and the hosts provided pool towels. The pool was still uncovered and unheated when we were there (late October) but still just about warm enough to be pleasant for swimming. The pool can be covered with a kind of retractable greenhouse which I imagine would be pretty great for swimming in winter. The games area in the basement is a nice touch for both kids and adults (pool table, table football and an old pinball machine). The living area is open plan - a spacious kitchen, good-sized dining table and sofa space for 3 people. Wi-fi generally worked well, and when it cut out a couple of times this was resolved in about 5 minutes by switching the router off and on. There is a fantastic balcony upstairs (leading from 2 bedrooms) with sun loungers and a spectacular view of Mount Etna. Overall we found the place to be clean and well-equipped. The villa is located within a small compound of villas, however the villa's well-maintained garden areas felt very private. The location itself (Trappitello) is of little interest for tourists but provides some useful amenities like small shops, nearby supermarkets and a couple of nearby restaurants. However it is a perfect base to explore the region (you shouldn't stay here if you don't have a car). The house is just a few minutes drive from both Giardini Naxos and Taormina. Heading inland, the beautiful hilltop village of Castiglioni is about 20 minutes away. The motorway linking Catania to the south and Messina to the north is easily accessible just a couple of minutes from the house, and Catania & Mount Etna can be reached in under an hour. The host Davide was very courteous and helpful, and responded immediately when we had small issues (a water outage and when the pinball machine jammed - both were resolved very quickly)."
"Consiglio l'affitto della proprietà. La villa è molto bella in zona tranquilla, ma comoda e vicina ai luoghi piú belli da visitare. Il personale è disponibile ad intervenire ad ogni minimo problema."
"Amazing Villa and Pool
We were a party of 6 (2 families of 3) and cannot recommend the Villa enough. Without doubt the best I've stayed in and will certainly return in the future. The pool was fabulous and the Villa interior decor was excellent with the games room been an added bonus. Only slight negative is that there was no restaurants within walking distance and driving out of the gated estate onto the main road is tricky as it is on a bend and not easy to see oncoming traffic in the mirror provided."
"The house had all we could wish for, as a party of 7: parents, 3 children and 2 friends of the children. All of them students. Ofcourse we loved the large swimming pool. Cooking together in the good kitchen and eating outside. Anytime we felt the need for advice, we could communicate via whatsapp with Davide or Santi. Within minutes came a respons. Always excellent advice and help. About wine testing on the Etna or which supermarket was open or which restaurants to visit or which boat to rent. Great place, great help."
"Great place for families, amazing warm pool with showers. good communication with host, and lovely little town"
"Great place for families, amazing warm pool with showers. Dood communication with host, and lovely little town."
"Lovely place, perfect for bigger families"
"Fantastic villa and perfect for a family holiday
From start to finish a stress free holiday, the owners are very helpful with any questions that I had prior to arriving. We were met by Graziella and Giuseppe, who showed us around this amazing villa and were our contact during our stay. It’s in a perfect position if you want to be slightly away from the busy areas, but close enough for assess to everything. The villa is a great size as is the pool and the views of Etna are amazing. We loved using the local shops and cafes which gave us a real insight into the scicillian way of life. We hired a car and also used public transport which was good. Taxi’s are also an option, but expensive.
The only downside is the position of the villa to the road, the villa is in a gated area and once out of the gate you are onto a busy road with no path for several hundred yards and pulling out in a car was fun!
Overall a great holiday and would definitely recommend it. "
"A wonderful house for a big family
My family, eight adults and two children (7 and 4 years), had a wounderful week in Sicily and at Villa di Marmo. The house was clean and proper and had all the facillities you can need with a lot of area to use both inside and outside the house. The pool was perfekt for both children and adults and was perfectly placed side by side with the outdoor dining area. Specially thanks for the diving board. The water quality was regularly controlled by the caretaker. We had a very good welcomming receiving and a good communication with the keyholder even if we arrived later than it was planned. We really can recommend this house for other guests and families. We love the italian coffe and as a big swedish family we sometime missed a bigger or two coffemakers."
"Satisfied in all points - the house turned out to exceed our expectations!
We stayed for a week in this beautiful house and had a very pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing time. Everything worked smooth - the housekeeper were punctual, very friendly, helpful and reachable at all times! The house is in a quiet area and offers a lot of privacy. I definately recommend this house and would book my vacation at this site any time again."
"A lovely Villa situated in Trapitello Province of Messina some 15 minutes drive away from Giardini Naxos .A what you see is what you get property. Owner and Morena tried to come our way in our requests.
Would definitely suggest it to others."
Fabulous villa with great facilities and perfect for a group holiday! The pool is fantastic and the location is spot on if you want to relax but also be close to the tourist spots."
"Great place for a fab holiday.
Arriving quite late in the evening as our flight had been delayed we were welcomed warmly and shown round this impressive property that lacks for nothing. It is really well appointed, comfortable and fully reflected the pictures on the website. The house is lovely and we were quickly settled and able to relax in beautiful surroundings. The pool was great and so close to the house you could just flop in as we basked in the June heatwave.
The air conditioned hire car was essential for exploring the area and we had good trips to Etna, The Cottanera winery near Castiglione di Siciliana (5 stars), the Taormina food festival and the coast. We also enjoyed trying out our pidgin Italian in the local shops and restaurants. We did not have a poor meal or experience and there is so much choice for eating out. The boat trip around the coast was fun but the sea was surprisingly cold!
The house and garden were beautifully maintained and clean. We asked for the pool roof to be moved back and this was done. The kitchen area was great and there was so much space. The bedrooms were comfortable and air conditioning on all floors. The games area in the basement was vast with pool table and pinball machine. Sadly the pinball had too many tokens jammed in the coin slot so did not work. Otherwise all worked well and the wifi coped with multiple devices.
I loved the view of Mount Etna each morning from the balcony so clear, so near yet so huge and impressive. We had a wonderful and relaxing holiday and the Villa was an excellent base for exploring the region"
"Excellent Villa for 3 families, nice bed- and bathrooms for all of us. Roomy kitchen, view to Etna from balcony and huge pool. Playing room in downstairs was my favorite, especially pin ball game!
We had very nice time in Sicily. I do recommend this Villa."
"Very luxurous villa with all comfort, perfect pool heated and close to shops village and sea. Wonderfull garden with lots of nice corners to rest and enjoy the sun.
we had bad luck first day no wifi. But in office hours it was quickly resolved. Contact person was easy available and spoke perfect german. Recommended."
"Beautiful house and garden, perfect for families.
A lovely small but well kept garden surrounds the house on 3 sides, each with covered sitting areas and seats, sofas, rocking seat, or hammock. In the garden there is a wendy house, slide and pond with frogs and goldfish to keep the kids amused. A large pool with a sliding roof provides more entertainment, and there are several areas for eating outside, as well as a good charcoal barbecue. There are two external hot/cold showers outside.
Inside, the ground floor has french doors opening to each of the 3 sides, and is open plan with kitchen, dining table and TV area. There is plenty of seating. A gas hob, electric oven, fridge and separate freezer, and all the usual utensils and tools. There is a bedroom off the lounge area. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one ensuite, a second large bathroom with the a huge jacuzzi bath, and a utlities room including a washing machine. Both bedrooms open on to a balcony with sunbeds. In the basement, there is a another bedroom and separate bathroom (with shower), and a games room with table football, pool table and a working pinball machine.
The house is in a gated community but the village community are relatively friendly with a range of greengrocer, butchers, gelateria, cafes, restaurants, and a small supermarket to chose from. You only 10 mins from Giardina Naxos with its beach area, and 20 mins from Taormina. The house is a short distance (about 5 mins) from the motorway but you need to be careful finding the correct exit into and out of the village so study the route beforehand.
The caretaker was friendly and helpful and tried her best to sort out a few niggles (the heating wouldn't turn on for the first 3 days, and the internet stopped for the last 3 days).
We all thought it was a great family holiday and want to return to this house next time we come to Sicily!"
"Everything was excellent!
We loved our stay att this house. We really enjoyed it. The house owner was really helpfull with everything.
We agreed all that we would come again!
"The property was well prepared for us on arrival and the two people that met us were very helpful. They left us a bottle of wine and even recommended somewhere to go out for New Years Eve.
We were two families - 4 adults, 5 children - so the size of the villa was just about right. Everyone had a bed, and the smallest was on a fold out sofa bed.
Major plus points were the pool and the basement level games room with a pool table and pinball machine.
The kitchen was also large, but we struggled to get 9 people around the table. It was also a little under equipped if you wanted to cook at home, but a relatively minor point.
Spectacular views of Etna every morning were certainly uplifting for the soul, and we were lucky with the weather for the time of year (28 Dec to 4 Jan) with highs of 17 deg and lots of dry weather and sun.
The only downsides for the adults were that the beds were in need of an upgrade - new mattresses would sort this easily.
Overall, loved the place and the location and can recommend it with a clear conscience."
"We had a great stay in this villa with about 8 people. The villa is very luxurious, and the hosts very friendly and considerate. The bedrooms are very spacious, with practically private bathrooms, there is a playing room in the basement, and several outside areas to lunch and dine. Some of the best meals we had were at our own villa, with beautifully dressed tables. The hot water was gone at times, but even on a Saturday night the owner came straight away to fix it for us. With the usual weather in Sicily it also wasn't a big issue. All in all this place comes highly recommended."
"The property was difficult to find due to the complex road system locally, located in a private road off a VERY busy road running through the village of Trappitello. The villa has stunning views of Etna, the garden and pool area very impressive. The location is very convenient for visiting any of the resorts on the Eastern side of the island, but Trappitello itself is quite a run down little town with just a few small local shops.
The games room in the basement was a great source of evening entertainment, and the outdoor space is stunning with plenty of seating and outdoor dining areas. The interior décor of the villa is an odd mix of traditional Italian opulence and modern Ikea furnishings.
We did have some problems with lack of hot water at times which was a bit of a nuisance with a young child and the dishwasher seemed to have a mind of its own! Compared to some villas we have rented elsewhere in Europe and considering the rental rates I felt it could do with a little updating.
I have also noted that villas rented through agencies like Owners Direct (rather than traditional Villa rental companies) do not include things like a welcome pack of essentials such as toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, bottled water - these little extras are really helpful when arriving late in the day. It would also be useful to have some info in the villa re location and opening times of local shops/restaurants etc."
"Very peaceful and bigger than you think!
Just returned from a week in this lovely villa. Incredibly spacious and well presented. Big bedrooms and the games room in the basement ( although windows/doors to driveway so very light and airy) was a huge bonus. Not only was it the coolest place in the house but it kept us all entertained with the pool table, darts and table football and to top it off a little bar!!! This area also had a sitting room area, kitchen area with fridge, bed settee and bathroom.
The ground level was a delight. The kitchen/living area was a fabulous space On arrival a bottle of wine/water and a bowl full of fruit which was a lovely gesture.
The amount of marble in the house not only looks stunning but is very welcome to cool down your feet on a hot day. The two bedrooms upstairs are again, very well furnished with huge bathrooms plus the utility room.
The outside space is deceiving as good use was made of the area, even if the house was full which ours was, you could always find a space to relax. The pond waterfall and outside lighting were all on timers so no effort required at all. The pool area is fantastic! We hired a car from the airport but parking is no problem at all if there are different families sharing. The house is in a very safe locked gated community.
They are not many restaurants in the area but we went to Al Feudo which as you come out of the gate at the end turn left for approx 0.5mls on the right. You can park at the bottom and walk up to the restaurant the views are stunning. Typically british we were there at 7.30pm it looked closed but it wasn't the food was lovely so it became our local. We drove there as walking looked a little dangerous!!
Small supermarket 5 mins away but much better one 10 mins away ask Morena!
We also drove to Giardino Naxas one evening and ate at Lido La Romantica. The food was lovely and it is set on the beach. Parking at 7.30pm was fine busy later. I think that there is public parking during the day in the centre somewhere but we find it so went to Taormina. We parked in the car park at the bottom of the cable car 10Euros for the day and then paid for 5 sunbeds in Lido Plage opposite... we shouldn't have bothered talk about packed in like sardines 15 euros each for the bed!! We wished that we had bought a umberella and sat with the locals, beach stoney though. We ate at Ristorante Castelluccio ( turn and walk left as you come out of cable car park) very nice.
Would recommend this villa you will not regret it!"
"Stunning Villa, Perfect Holiday!
This is a quite wonderful villa, with all the facilities that you could ask for. The bedrooms and bathrooms are of the highest quality and the pool was magnificent.
The owner and key holder were a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for them...Including waiting until well after midnight for us to arrive, after our flight was badly delayed.
A quick tip! The local village has brilliant fish, vegetable & fruit shops, as well as a beautiful bakery....but shop before 11.30am before they close :-)
I can't recommend a stay at this villa highly enough."
This house has everything you could need to create the perfect holiday."
