Description
Villa Torrefano is a stunning Aristocratic villa in a fabulous cliff-top position overlooking the Ionian Sea, and the island Isola Capo Passero, the most southern point of Italy, the place where the Ionian Sea meets the Mediterranean sea. It would be difficult to ask for a more delightful setting. Torrefano is perfect for relaxing holidays. With the possibility of organising a cook, you might find that you will never stray very far from home, even though its proximity to the stunning baroque towns of Syracuse, Noto and Ragusa Ibla make it an excellent base for a cultural exploration of this UNESCO World Heritage area. Two white sand beaches distance only 500 meters. After passing through the gate, the first view of the villa is of green lawns and the turquoise sea. It is also possible to see Marzamemi. This fishermans village boasts restaurants, pizzerias and shops selling delicious local produce such as locally caught and processed tuna and swordfish or the famous cherry tomatoes from nearby Pachino. North of Marzamemi is the stunning coastal reserve of 'Vendicari', great for walks and swimming.
The living areas and bedrooms of Villa Torrefano are all on one floor (the ground floor). Villa Torrefano consists of 6 bedrooms, of which three have sea view, a very large living area with fireplace, sofa, and three dining tables, a basic, spacious kitchen, and three bathrooms with shower, bidet and toilet, of which one has a tub. Outside there is a terrace with seating, deckchairs and a barbeque. A cook of the nearby fish restaurant La Balata (Marzamemi) can serve meals on request.
Because of the presence of a fireplace (and the possibility to add heaters), and the very sunny climate in the southeast of Sicily, which is as south as Tunesia, the house offers a pleasant stay also during the few cold weeks of the short Sicilian winter.
