Casetta Ortigia is a renovated apartment in a baroque palazzo, right in the centre of Syracuse, the peninsula of Ortygia. The house is located in Via Vittorio Veneto, a street full of monumental buildings. You can swim in the crystal-clear sea of the lido (beach club), which distance less then 100 m. from the house. Turn away from the sea and stroll a hundred yards along the Promenade and you are in the Cathedral square, Piazza Duomo, with its awe-inspiring ancient monuments. Any street off the square leads you to a network of narrow alleyways with busy shops full of local products.

The apartment is located at the ground floor and has been completely renovated with terracotta floors, new furniture, new fittings, central heating, air-conditioning and a brand new bathroom and kitchen. The apartment is some kind of a loft and is designed on a spacious 60 sq. metres open plan with the bedroom on the upstairs gallery. The entrance leads straight into the living room, which is next to the kitchen/dining area (gas cooker/electric oven/fridge-freezer, washing machine etc.). The living room has a double sofabed, armchair and satellite-TV. Upstairs in the gallery, there is the double bed and a large cabinet. The large bathroom downstairs has a toilet, shower unit, hand-basin and bidet.
