This property lies just across the water from Africa, in the extreme southeast of Sicily. This antique fishermans cottagesis situated right on the seafront at Marzamemi, have been tastefully restructured and renovated. Some of Sicilys finest natural beaches are found nearby. The fishermans cottage have been renovated with an eye to conserving the heritage of the local area. Casa del Pescatore "Orata" is the biggest of all cottages and has a comfortable roof terrace with an incredible view of the village, its small port and the vividly painted boats. The cottage is situated right on the promenade of Marzamemi, which is an ancient fishing village in the extreme southeast of Sicily. The tradition of all things marine is still very much alive in Marzamemi today. Marzamemi combines natural beaches with the vibrancy of an authentic coastal village. The village boasts many restaurants, pizzerias and shops selling delicious local produce such as locally caught and processed tuna and swordfish or the famous cherry tomatoes from nearby Pachino.
Casa del Pescatore "Orata" has a very charming courtyard with an olive tree at the center. Stairs of stone lead to the roofterrace with its set of deckchairs, covered terrace, barbecue and kitchen sink. The house has three entrances: from the square of the village, from a side street and from the promenade. The house consists of two kitchens, three bedrooms and three en-suite bathrooms, a living room with two sofabeds and a dining area. Bedrooms 1 consists of two singles and a double bed on the gallery floor. Below the gallery floor is the bathroom with double vanity, toilet, bidet and tub. Bedrooms 2 consists of 2 bunk beds (4 singles). In front of this bedroom is a bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower. Bedrooms 3 consists of one single and a double bed on the gallery floor. Below the gallery floor is the bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower. From the roofterrace, there is a wide view over the village, its small port and the vividly painted boats.
Its location at the centre of the village makes the house ideal for a stay at any time of the year. In winter gas heaters can be used to heat the houses.
